I had the exact watch for 15 years. The battery finally died and I could not get plate off to replace it. I then bought a new watch;the same one.
I do not take it in water, even though it is allegedly waterproof.
I take it off when showering,and still there are beads of moisture that will not evaporate!!! it just stays underneath the plastic.
I wrote to the company who sent it to me and never got a response.

I am so happy with this watch! It is small, but I can still read it without my glasses!! I was a little hesitant about the color of the band because I thought it might look dirty quickly. But I've been wearing it daily for about a month, and it still looks brand new. I am not careful about it, I just wear it. I also have a big hairy stinky dog, so it has really been exposed to dirt, and still looks great! I like is so much that I am planning to purchase the same watch with the black band. Good old Timex! Timex Military Quartz Watch

I have had this same style of watch since 1991! I wore as a civilian and in the military. I like the fact that it has military time on the face and that the hands glow slightly in the dark so you can still tell the time without turning on a light. It is virtually indestructable even in wet conditions. The nylon strap is easy to clean and the back allows for easy battery replacement. The reason I am buying a new watch was that after daily use for over ten years, the second hand literally fell off and would not allow the other hands to move. Hard to see numbers because of dumb "window". Window is supposed to indicate alarm and chime on/off, but is very hard to see and doesn't say which is alarm and which is chime. Almost impossible to see day of week with silly, space-wasting display. Use of buttons makes no sense, very different from all other Timexes I've used. This is a nice looking casual watch. The price was good and actually the top of the line for Timex. I wanted an extension band because I live in a rural area and we don't have a jeweler to shorten a clasp. The only thing that I found was the band pinched a bit when I first put it on each day which doesn't last. I don't have huge wrists so that is something that a person that is large boned to take into consideration. The face of the watch is bigger than I thought but I appreciate it because it's so easy to read. I just discovered that if you push the wind button it lights up. Pros: The Timex Expedition Combo watch looks sharp, even better than pictured online. It has a stainless case, and a mineral crystal with a surface slightly lower than the case perimeter, which should help protect it from scratches (it still looks new).

The Indiglo feature is bright and clear, and while "the digital window doesn't light up" as mentioned in another review, the digital numbers fluoresce, making them visible when the Indiglo is used in low light.

Cons: Nothing major - I had expected the outer "00 - 50" ring to turn (it even has a black outer band with notches in it), but it doesn't. No biggie.

I'll admit, this watch took a little getting used to. After a week getting used to the watch and two months of wearing, this watch is outstanding. I live and work on the water and the tide feature is the best. Easily out performs any electronic watch with a tide feature. It does take a some time to get comfortable using but I now immediately distinguish the tide hand from the minute or hour hands (it's shaped differently). As one reviewer noted along with the instructions. The temperature feature is not useful unless removed from your wrist. The time and the tides were the reason for my purchase. However, notice the days of week are very tiny and notice that the month is not shown on the home screen without a button push. And the huge chrono dislay numbers are great. Big enough to hang on the pool deck and still see even with goggles. But then the bad news. Poof! After 30 minutes of exercise, the seconds become very tiny and tenths do not show.
