Timex makes some really nice looking watches and this is one of them. There's nothing wasted on this watch--everything on it is useful. It may be a bit cluttered for some but I really like it. Definitely looks very sharp. What I don't like--the day of the month is nearly impossible to see. Numbers are so small and you really have to squint to make it out. That really annoys me. Also, the watch has no light, which surprised me. I would have loved a perpetual calendar too but I guess you can't have everything. Nice looking watch, and it's Timex so you know it is good quality. I purchased this watch with great expectations. After getting used to the watch band clasp and getting "sold" on all the capabilities, I discovered that the buttons were hard to push. Most annoying of all was the fact that the lap counter button would sometimes record 2 laps with one push. Totally threw off the average lap time, etc. It seemed to occur once in every 12 laps.

I own/have owned several Timex watches, usually love the functionality/price ratio of most of them.

This one's a cool idea, like the dual analog/digital display, charged by light should last forever, choice of digital displays including none. Sadly, the visibility of the digital part only looks like that photo when you're in pitch darkness using the IndiGLO to light it up. In daylight (when most people run) you have to hold it at precisely 26.116798 degrees incident to the sun to even see the digits at all. Forget about it looking like that photo in the daytime. On a cloudy day, good luck seeing it at all, because it's not dark enough for the indiglo and not light enough to get your precise incident angle to the sky. In pitch dark, you'll have to reach over with your other hand to kick in the Indiglo, because this one mysteriously doesn't have the FLIX functionality.

Also, the analog hands obstruct the digital part. Eg, if you run around noon you won't be able to see the top digital display, or around 5:30/6:30 good luck seeing the bottom one. Annoying if you rely on splits in either one.

Also agree with other reviewers [elsewhere] that the placement of the SOLAR logo on the face at 9:00 is unnecessarily large and downright annoying because at first glance you'll think one of the analog hands is at the 9:00 position. Monster logo should be around the edge of the dial somewhere.

Ironman Sleek 150 Lap: Full

Received this watch for Christmas and I noticed a deep scratch on the face on January 6. I don't remember hitting the watch on anything; I only wear it to work and had it on under a sweater all day, so the scratch is from what I would call normal wear and tear. Because of this watch's sleek design, the face is not protected from scratching. Also, the side buttons are very easy to bump; often, when I check the time, my watch displays "chrono" meaning the mode button has been bumped.

This watch is a good watch, efficient, easy to use, lightweight, etc.. However, the bad points would be the color. The band is white and blue so it does get very dirty looking (if you have an active lifestyle) and you can not take the band off the watch to wash it easily. It has rubber pieces that hold the band to the watch and if you damage one while removing the band(which I have not done)... it would be hard to fix. The watch itself is blue and white but I have already scratched off the white in one place and the blue is showing through. Positive: Great watch- very comfortable. Nice large digits- much easier to read than casio g-shock 5600. Watch is much more comfortable than any g shock. I like it slightly more than the timex 30 lap, mostly because the time is easily differentiated from the date on this watch. The styling is also nicer on this watch than on the 30 lap timex core watch- it seems more finished. It has a nice recessed face.

Negs: The flix system is kind of worthless- you have to reset it every day, and you have to really flick your wrist to get it to work. It is easier to just push the button, but this is no big deal for me. Also when you set the timer it is easy to stop it accidentally, or split it by bumping into things, which is also not a big deal. And it doesn't have a year setting, which means that once every four years I will have to adjust the date. Over all, I appreciate the comfort of this watch over any limitations that it may have. It is far superior to any casio G, even with out Solar, Atomic time keeping, Etc.. Solar watches die sooner rather than later- all batteries lose their ability to keep a charge eventually. Also- atomic time keeping is kind of silly because digital watches won't gain/lose more than 30 seconds over a few years. I don't see the need to pay extra.Buy Timex watch # T5J992!

I was amazed by how much this looks like the Rolex Submariner. It has a nice, solid feel to it and keeps great time. It was impossible for me to get the pins out to remove some links for resizing the band, but for $5 a local jewelry store did it for me. A bit heavy at 3.7 ounces (with three links removed -- 4.0 oz with all of them in), but I'm used to my Seiko titanium which weighs in at a svelte 1.9 oz.)
