This watch is great for almost any function. I love that the digital screen can be turned off for a more professional/office look. Also, it is an Ironman, so you know it's great for training. I enjoy that it can be charge on light too. I've really enjoyed this watch so far and I'm hoping that like all the other Ironman watches I've owned, it will last a long time.

I'm giving this a 5 though since I can't give a 4.5. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but if I was paying the retail price, I would expect a lot more. It doesn't have some things that my other Ironman watches have had - such as a countdown/count-up timer and the ability to store stopwatch workouts with average and best laps (or a Memo function, but I never really used that anyway). Also, this does seem to be a one piece band, so if it breaks, I likely can't repair that myself.

After reading some dismal reviews I had to give my opinion. I have a Swiss watch that was in for repair (yet again) and I decided to buy two Timex Automatics figuring I could always keep them as backups. Well this one (T2M516) is now my everyday watch and the rest stay on the watch-winder at home.

Pros:
The watch looks great.
The black finish is classy and unique
It's a "man's" watch. Heavy, sporty and durable
Timex lifetime warranty = 5 bucks

Cons:
Runs a bit fast (2-3 mins per day). Sent in for warranty, came back with same results.
Yes date is very small (but I have a cell phone that tells me that plus weather, maps and my next appt)

If you want an Automatic, just remember this: even the best Swiss watches require costly overhauls every 3-5 years. You could buy 15 of these at a lower price in that time.

It has the qualities of all of the PC watches by Timex: The day & date are always correct, the quartz movement is quite accurate - about one or two seconds a month, the battery lasts 7 years, and it it easy to read.

The shape of this watch accomodates its size (40 mm major axis) while still fitting a rather small wrist such as mine. It is also a very pleasing watch to look at. I am disappointed that it has disappeared from the Timex catalog.

Though they are large, they are almost unreadable in many light conditions, and completely unreadable in some light conditions. As for the day/month/day -- well, I've scarcely ever been able to make them out! I picked this watch from this site, and am largely happy with it. The links are a little more oblong than they look in the photo, and the indiglo light isn't quite as bright as I hoped (maybe to keep from disturbing movie-goers), but it has a nice heft, and shows no wear after about five days of use, including a couple of (inadvertant)smacks. I really like the tough deep crystal. It is loose on me, even after I removed some links, but I kind of like its bracelety quality. I purchased this and returned it. When they say it is worn on the small part or thin part of your wrist, it means the inside of the wrist. This is an excellent watch for the money, and for the outdoorsman. I'm a wildlife photographer and spend a great deal of time in the wilderness, and wanted a rugged analog watch with an analog compass. The compass is very accurate when you learn to properly calibrate. It's a great feature I find myself using quite often. Indiglo light is bright enough to see in the dark, and it has a calander date. Better quality then I've seen in alot of watches that cost twice the Timex Expidetion.

Amazon promptly sent me a replacment however that one quickly died as well. I took it to Radio Shack to replace the battery. After I removed the screws I could not get the plate off the back due to the way the band is attached. So I am returning this one for a refund and will buy a different type of watch. Timex Men's T Series Chronograph Silver-Tone Bracelet Watch #T2M470

The watch is beautiful and it is precise however, at first I was a little disapointed. It is advertised to have a perpetual calendar. However, when I received the watch, it was not running and the date was off by what appeared as 3 days. The crown was pulled 2 stops. After pushing it back in it started. Since the date was off I had to set the date whitch is not recommended since you have no way to see if the mounth and the year is right. So, for now, I still have no way to be sure if it is set properly. On February 29th, this year(2008) I will see. I still might have to return the watch.
The propect of having to return the watch every 6 years to have the battery changed is not very appealing.
The other problem I had was with the user instructions. Since the instructions are made for several model, you have to do a lot of guesswork.
So I would say that the product is great but that the operational and support design is not so good.

The contrast at night is only helpful when you press the button to illuminate the digits via the Indiglo function - somewhat difficult to do when running.
