I've owned this Timex Perpetual for over two months now, and I must say, this is hands down the most accurate and attractive watch I've ever owned. The subtle but handsomely textured face and well contrasted hands are amazingly legible allowing the user to ascertain the time with a quick glance, as easily as digital's readout. And you know what you read is THE time, or incredibly darn close to it. I myself set my watch *once* 60+ days ago to the right time, and to date the thing has only lost 5 seconds! As for the crystal and band, both are holding their luster quite well, remaining scratch-free and pleasing to the eye (with the exception of the clasp itself, which has scuffed a bit, but I am rough on my watches). Even the Indiglow light works quite well, even though it's usually not needed given the hands' and pips' decent luminous glow in the dark. Bought this watch for a cruise vacation i just came back from. Watch looks nice and has solid feel to it. I somehow thougth Timex was a no-nonsense inexpensive quality watch. What happened here is this: whenever i bent my hand upwards i would occaisionally press the bezel which would illuminate the watch. if it were only for that second or some, no problem. BUT the buttion would somehow get 'stuck' and the illumination would stay on for minutes at a time, or until i manually pullled on the bezel a bit. to make a long story short, the battery went dead after only 10 days of use! I purchased this Timex Expedition Dive watch looking for a sport watch that could be used for boating, swimming, skiing, golf, etc. yet look nice for casual wear. I wanted a watch that could be read at night without any light at a glance and has an easy to read dial. I really like the rubberized band that dries quickly unlike leather. I found just the watch, this Timex has an excellent combination of quality, functionality, appearance, & price. I just used it a my only timepiece for a week of skiing in Colorado where it got bounced around at altitudes up to 13,000 feet, dunked in a 103 degree hot tub followed by going out to dinner to upscale restaraunts. It performed very well and several people saw it asking what type of watch it was and where I got it. My skiing partner has a similar watch from Tag Heuer for which he paid a small fortune and didn't get any more in a watch except for a name that most people cannot read more than 2 feet away. I bought one of these (with lizards) for my 4 year old grandson's birthday. I wanted a watch with hands so he could really learn to tell time. The watch band fits his tiny wrist and the waterproofing worked great when he forgot to take it off and wore it during a swimming lesson. He loves the backlight (which he tries to use as a flashlight though it's not bright enough). He's gradually getting the concept of time and wears it ALL the time.
