This is an excellent watch for the money, and for the outdoorsman. I'm a wildlife photographer and spend a great deal of time in the wilderness, and wanted a rugged analog watch with an analog compass. The compass is very accurate when you learn to properly calibrate. It's a great feature I find myself using quite often. Indiglo light is bright enough to see in the dark, and it has a calander date. Better quality then I've seen in alot of watches that cost twice the Timex Expidetion.

It is a really cute watch, and is feminine looking, which is rare in a digital watch. I was really disappointed to find that it did not have the count down timer. Other than that it was great. I can't vouch for how well it operates, because I haven't used it. We've had this watch for little over a year. The elastic strap started to fray and come apart a few weeks ago. Then the rubber housing that holds the watch to the strap broke. So now we have a good working watch with no way to hold it on the wrist. Not the kind of wristband you'd find a the local drugstore. And anyway no way to attach it to the watch anymore.

The elastic band difficult to adjust to the right size. Also, though the watch itself is waterproof, the elastic band takes a long time to dry so not very comfortable to wear after a swim.Buy Timex Women's Watch #T5G301!

I hate to give one star, but there's not much else one can do after a product lasts for about five days. I bought the men's style of this watch back in January, and I really enjoyed it. It looks very good, and seemed to be sufficiently waterproof, as is claimed. My girlfriend also liked my watch, and needed a new one, so when I went back to the States I bought her one. About four days later, hers got water in the case, and soon thereafter died. Worse yet, my own watch died several days later. So out of two watches of this style, the average lifespan is about four months. I know it has a warranty, but as I am now in Brazil, it would be impossible for me to ship it both ways without paying more than the value of the watch. Sad, as the design is very pleasing on the eyes and I enjoyed mine for the first few months.

I am currently on my third one of these. It is the best watch I have found and I don't know what I would do if I couldn't find another. It is a nice smaller version of the Timex Expedition, perfect for women. The band is a comfortable combination of leather and mesh and withstands a lot of abuse. I have worn it while running, lifting, swimming and doing a lot of manual labor. The display is very clear and I love the date and day of the week. I use that function so often that if I have a dress watch on, I am continually look at it to see what the date is. It is a great everyday sport watch and I will probably buy another one when I wear this one out! The "Dress Watch" had a resin wristband that was very comfortable, but was prone to developing tensile cracks (see review). This wristband appears to be made out of a similar resin, but the latch mechanism is completely different. The clasp type on the "Dress Watch" is like a belt buckle - the combination of this clasp type and wristband material was not the best (the tensile cracks developed in areas that bent the most during latching). However, the clasp type with this watch is a pushbutton deployment clasp (usually found on metal wristbands) - the combination of this clasp type with the resin wristband material should be a much better fit (the band does not bend to the extreme the "Dress Watch" had to bend). Also, this wristband is fully adjustable (whereas links must be removed from metal wristbands in order to adjust).

There are a couple of downsides to this watch:
1) the titanium pieces that connect the watch-face unit to the wristband make it uncomfortable to wear the watch even semi-loose - the titanium pieces dig into my wrist bone if it is too loose, and

2) the deployment clasp has a tendency to grab a few of my wrist hairs while closing (although this can be avoided with some practice).Buy Timex Men's Ironman 75 Lap Titanium Watch #T5J681!

I bought this for my girlfriend to go scuba diving, and it serves that purpose well. The only negatives are the lack of alarm and the stainless steel bracelet needs to be resized by a jeweler or someone with the proper equipment. This was only 10 bucks at the local jeweler however, so not that bad. The included instructions are pretty generic and don't cover that particular type of band, which uses compression pins to hold the links together. This is a terrible watch, easily the worst watch I've ever owned. And I'm someone who has bought Timex "ironman" watches for 20 years because of their combination of durability and price. But the last two ironman watches I've bought have convinced me to move to a different brand. This last watch literally fell apart within 2 months of purchase. The watch-glass is surrounded by a plastic faceplate, that is fabricated to "look" like it is securely bolted to the watch. In reality it is only glued on there and it fell apart slowly over a couple of weeks. The battery also went out on this watch 2 months after I had bought it. I fell in love with this economical little watch when searching endlessly for a nice little brown leather strapped timex. Then I sent the link to my Secret Santa. But when I received the gift, the watch didn't work. Correction: it only worked if you HELD in the crown! The second you let go, it stopped. So I exchanged it for another, waited, and alas...the same thing. What a shame! The watch is so pretty, so perfect for someone like me who wears both gold and silver (it's sort of two-tone). Not wanting to chance another, I returned it and ordered a Seiko.
